Rose provides Magee with first success
That's great and she got a great ride out in front,. We knew she had improved from the last day so we are delighted. That's my first winner and only my fourth runner. I only got the licence in January and I'm delighted. We'll see what the handicapper does and we'll be looking at Galway.
Important wins for Hand & Dunne
The last time he ran over two-and-a-half he got there too soon and on the heavy ground didn't get home. We were holding him up to get the two-and-a-half but obviously he gets it well on good ground. He's a lazy bugger at home but he was on his toes today so I thought he was going to be a bit keen and fresh. He had a little break and I think that's helped him freshen up. I think he's a horse that would run better fresh. He'll go on soft but he doesn't want heavy ground. He could also be a horse that could go to Dundalk or Wolverhampton as he has an attractive Flat mark. The way he stayed there I think two miles on the Flat would be perfect for him. He actually ran here on the Flat last year, and we really fancied him, but he got struck into turning for home and threw in the towel. I have him entered back here in the two miler next Wednesday and I was thinking coming near the line 'Danny go easy!' and save a bit. He didn't look to have a hard race there. I presume the handicapper is going to put him up a bit so we'll go again. Danny was over cutting timber for me recently and instead of paying him a few quid I said I'd give him the ride on something!
Excellent makes breakthrough for McNamara
He's a lovely horse. He's been caught on the line three times, once on the Flat and twice over hurdles, so he's due a win,. He probably appreciated the better ground. He was second a couple of times on soft and heavy ground. We'll probably head on to Galway for a winners four-year-old race there. It suits well although I'm sure there will probably be a few pop up out of the woodwork, maybe horses that were in Cheltenham and things like that, but hopefully he'll have a shout going there.
Odds-on Eagle gets the job done
Shark strikes again with Corner
That was lovely. What a ride from Bryan Cooper,. We told him to take his time and he did that. He had planned to come wide turning in but they all came wide so he just came up the inside. The horse deserves to win a race as last year he was unlucky a few times. My horses are flying so that's a big help. It's great to get a few winners on the board, that's the third winner in ten days and it keeps everyone happy. He'll probably got to Galway after that and we'll put a team together for that as I like having a winner in Galway.
Outsiders dominate as Ardamir springs surprise
It's nice to win a pot like that with him. He ran well in Naas and then was a bit disappointing the next day but he's obviously come back well now. Denis was happy with him, he said he pulled him out down the back as he wasn't travelling but when he pulled him out he came alive with him. He said he'd go on with him as he had a light weight, thankfully he held on. He held on well, I was a bit worried going to the last but Denis said he won snug enough. He's a grand fun horse and it's a good prize to win with a horse like him. I'd imagine he could be one for Galway but he's done his job now anyway.
Tullybeg another for Codd as Elliott doubles-up
He'll probably give him a break now and have him back for the winter. He's a nice horse to go jumping with. He's owned by the yard sponsors Noel and Valerie so it's great to get a winner for them.
