Whatdeawant swoops late in Navan opener
It was a good performance. Even though I was a few lengths down I was always getting the feeling off him that I would get there. It's his first run of the year and hopefully he'll step forward again. His bumper form is fairly solid from last year and hopefully he'll keep developing into a nice novice hurdler. He'll probably get further than two-and-a-half but when the ground gets slower, the way he picked up in the last furlong-and-a-half, you wouldn't mind coming back. You'll probably see the best of him over further but he's not going to be stuck going staying trips as there is a little bit of class with him too. It's a grand starting point and his bit of class told today.
Mixed fortunes for Elliott as The Goffer scores
This horse was actually working well since the last day. I didn't think he'd do that but he did it well and he's an improving horse. He's a nice big horse and I'm very happy with him. He's a grand horse and he's big enough to jump fences as well.
Super sub Codd steers Ginto to easy Grade 2 win
That was great, he's the horse we thought he was. He's a big galloper. It was no race here the last day. From the second last to the line is what I loved today as he just galloped. He's a good horse. He'll get an entry for the race at Naas and we'll see. We'll have a chat with Noel and Valerie and see what they want to do. He's a chaser in the making.
Commander of Fleet lands valuable handicap at 40/1
It was a good performance. He was a good horse back in the day. To be honest I was worried he had a lot of weight but he did it well. I was very happy with him. He was running well the last day before he fell so that's great. We might try and qualify him for the Pertemps now.
Riviere D'etel continues to impress over fences
She's a good mare. Whether we go for something at Christmas or not I don't know. She's had two runs now and Noel and Valerie are away on holidays for Christmas, so we came here for that reason. We'll see how she is and how she comes out of the race. Denis said she's actually gotten really relaxed when she gets to the front. They didn't let her away and she jumped very professionally. I'm very happy with her.
Farouk D'alene makes successful switch to fences
He's a good horse. He was off the track for a long time, I thought he'd come on from it and he will come on a lot from it. He was gutsy and chasing is his game. He jumped well the whole way around from what I could see. He wouldn't be a horse for Leopardstown as it would be too quick and we'll try and find a Graded race somewhere for him. He's in the race at Limerick and if it was bottomless heavy ground he might go there.
Conflated completes big handicap double for Fitzgerald
He's a good horse and was a Graded horse over hurdles but he lost his way a bit. I fancied him in the Kerry National but he unseated at the third fence. It's great to win a nice pot with him. It's been a good day.
Elliott completes 37,381 seven-timer at Navan
That's great. He's a lovely horse and we won't do much more with him this year. We'll give him a break and we'll probably bring him back for Fairyhouse and leave it there. He's one for the future.
