Silver finally crowned
Condon continues golden run
She hasn't been easy to train. She has had soundness issues. We've lowered our sights though and they produced nice ground here this evening. It was important to get a winning bracket for her. The smaller field this evening and the fact that she was calmer before the race helped her here. She was also wearing blinkers for the first time.
Fret a popular winner
This is my favourite course. The horse travelled well for Ben and I'd told him to wait for as long as he could before producing him. He'll go to Listowel and to Galway before that for a seven furlong race. He is a great fun horse and it's a pity the owners couldn't be here tonight. They have a 'do' at the hotel this evening (the Knightsbrook in Trim).
Boy delights Elliott and Gallagher
That's the end of a brilliant week. This is great for Sean (Gallagher, shared in some of the Elliott winners at Perth) as he is a Bellewstown man and it is his first winner here. So it is happy days for the both of us as Sean hit the crossbar here a couple of times last night (Makhaaleb and Thistimesforgood were both placed).
Condon & McDonogh strike on the double
He is a very honest horse, a gentleman and a lovely horse to have about the place. He is a very strong stayer and his half sister won a couple of handicaps over two miles for Mark Tompkins. Declan knew he was on a strong stayer so that's why he was so forceful on him. He'll make a smashing jumper in time even though he is still quite raw. He enjoys nice ground.
O'Gara completes a week to remember
He travelled and jumped great. Alan said he is still learning and hopefully he'll keep improving. I'd imagine the owner might like to go to Galway now and I think there is a three mile handicap for him on Plate Day. He is obviously going to be a chaser of the future. He has battled well now the two days he has won so that is good to see.
Salute Him prevails under ice-cool O'Connor
The poor old horse deserved that. He ran well at Ascot when I told the jockey to hold on to him a bit too much and he was unlucky in Dubai so this was well deserved. He has plenty of options now; he could go back over hurdles. Yer man (Derek O'Connor) is some cool customer, he is a serious man.
