He was always a nice horse and unfortunately, or fortunately, he got a bit of time. He was a bit fresh today, and he didn't do all his jumping. I hope he'll go on and we'll take it step by step.

His last run at Naas came just a bit quick after Galway. He travelled and jumped well, and if it stays dry he'll keep going for a while. He wants a trip.

Express finally comes good over hurdles

We freshened her up and to be honest took a bit of a chance on her being fit enough. This was probably her last chance while the ground is still in her favour. Paul had to produce her late and was as cool as a breeze. If the ground kept good for a while then she could run again.

Andrew said he slipped a bit going into the ditch early in the straight first time round and jumped a bit big at the next few. However he was brilliant after that, and I'd hope he'll improve alot from that run. He took a blow coming out of the back straight. We ran him carrying a bit more weight today, and he's definitely filled out from last year. He's a very exciting horse to have. We had to get him out early as he loves good ground, and he could go now for the second season novices race at Down Royal.

He likes good ground but its fairly quick out there. He did it well, and hopefully we can keep him going with the ground in his favour. There could be a novice chase for him at Punchestown next month.

Connell doubles up with Punter Paudi

He's a nice summer type horse and deserved to win on his Gowran Park second. I probably ran him back too soon at Roscommon last time. We may keep him as a summer novice over hurdles next year but he's also won two point-to-points so he'll make a chaser.
