Freneys Well gains compensation
We've had a great week thank god! I was a bit worried pulling him out again after he ran over four miles here on Thursday. He did it so easy and I'm delighted for Nina, Drombeag ran a cracker too. We're thinking of going to France, there are running a new cross-country series on the 13th of May. The race is over four and a half miles and is worth one hundred and twelve thousand. He likes good ground and L'Ami maybe considered for the race too.
Tarla makes it a winning start
My trip to Paris paid off. I went to Paris when Punchestown was called off due to frost here earlier in the year and that's when I bought this filly. She has shown us plenty at home and she looked good there. We bought her to go novice chasing but we might have to have a rethink after that. She may go to France, she's had a nice break since she came to us.
Cuan Na Grai scores for Nolan/Cawley
I'm delighted to get him back to winning ways as he has had to come back from a few injuries over the years and we take what we can get with him nowadays.
Barizan claims Champion 4-Y-O Hurdle
No horse deserves this more than him. He has finished second in two Grade Ones recently and it's not a nice place to be. He's very tough and genuine and tries very hard. We were a little bit worried that the two Grade Ones would have taken their toll. I am disappointed for Paul Moloney who usually rides the horse. He got a bad bump at Uttoxetter the other day. I would like to thank Paddy Heffernan from Wexford who has looked after the horse and us the last few days.
Doyle excels on Coolcashin
We've had a welcome change of luck. This lad had a bad fracture and suffers from arthritis as a result. Edwina Farrell works wonders on him and he wears a magnetic boot and it seems to be doing the trick. He has been running on terrible sticky ground all Winter and he just needs good ground. It's taken the penny awhile to drop for me. There's a temptation to consider something like the Galway Plate for him now.
Walsh wins aboard Dorset Square
Katie [Walsh] is a tipp top jockey. He's not the biggest horse in the world and physically he's not capable of carrying anything over ten stone seven pounds.
Backspin scores for Mullins
This horse just keeps surprising me, he does whatever we ask of him. He's a serious horse. We were going to run him at Gowran Park but I felt the ground was a bit rough for him so we decided to wait and come here. I part own this horse with P J Magnier and Mary Furlong who are great supporters of mine, so i'm delighted he won for them too.
