Our Valentina wins Navan opener
Crawford completes Navan double
the trick to him is to take him back and get him to jump. Once he jumps well he's a nice horse and he should go on to do a bit more for them hopefully,. said Corbett. He was a bit unlucky the last day. The horse in front (eventual winner Never Off Duty) stopped and then he idled a bit in front and the other horse got back up to beat him. He was due that.
Next Bend bridges year-long wait for win
he handled the ground a bit better than I thought They probably went a bit quick, I'd say, and set it up for him sitting out the back. He won on the Flat here at the end of April last year so we might come back for that race all being well.
Seskinane gains 'special win' for McMahon
it's special because he was my dad's horse and his anniversary was last Saturday - he's dead two years now. He’s the first horse I had and was also his first horse. We're a long time waiting for today and it's very special to be honest. he’s always been a favourite of mine - his last two runs weren't great and I was half thinking he might have had enough but we'll be putting retirement on ice for a while after that!. The ground is probably key to him and a galloping track. If Noel (O’Brien, handicapper) isn't too hard on him he might go in again while the ground is like that.
Harmony helps Townend to Navan double
he's a good ground horse in spite of him winning his bumper in Cork on heavy - that probably tore him a bit that day and he just didn't seem to be the same horse afterwards. He jumped right today but Paul (Townend) said that was just the ground. my long-term plan with him was the Galway Plate but obviously he'll have to progress to that. Denis O'Regan (jockey) said that he's the ideal type of horse for that, the way he jumps. Hopefully down the road Galway is where we'll go - I know there is more to come from him.
Moore steers Gibney's first training double
they (his horses) seem to be back in a bit of form thank-god, we were really struggling there for about 12 weeks with the form of the yard. We thought coming here that we were over it and it looks like we are right. Hopefully they stay like that now and we keep them right.
Crackerdancer scores 20 lengths bumper win
she's good and is just relentless and gallops and gallops. The more people were giving out about the ground today the happier we were - they were finishing drunk all day and we were thrilled watching it as it suited her down to the ground. That's her second bumper now and Patsy (O’Brien, owner) wants her as a broodmare. I'll chat to him now but I'd say if it came up soft we might go to Punchestown. It'll have to be soft as she fractured a knee when she was younger and she gives the ground a good thump, so with her knee you need it forgiving underfoot. We'll see and if that's it for the year, that's it, she has her job done. Whether Patsy will breed or come back for hurdling I don't know. You'd love to have a winter with her as she'd be an exciting one to go hurdling with.
