Orr draws level with Slattery in Apprentice Championship
the ground has gone very testing, even for the first race, as we had plenty of rain overnight and this morning. The race fell apart and she was in front sooner than we wanted but she's very brave and honest. Oisin felt she was going away again at the line and it actually took him a while to pull her up. She'll want much better ground and hopefully will be a nice filly for next year. We'll bring her back next year now and hopefully she can continue to do the family proud.
Unfancied Ballydoyle juvenile upsets stablemate for 25/1 success
he stepped up nicely from his first run and did things right, which was important, because he can sometimes be a little keen at home. Shane Hassett has been riding him out and he settled beautifully for me today. He travelled into the race nicely, handled the ground and stayed very well. It didn't look a bad maiden beforehand on paper with Jim Bolger's being rated 100 and we thought the runner-up (stablemate Nobel Prize) wasn't too bad either. It was nice improvement from him and hopefully he'll keep going that way.
Zoom Zoom Babe leads home Joseph O'Brien 1-2 in L'town Nursery
he (Crosse) said everywhere he went he got turned sideways. She's won now and the other lad who was second is off to the sales. That's Shane 5lb gone now. He's given her a good ride and I think they've just outstayed everything else really. The ground has probably suited her. I think she'll improve enough for next year as it's only her fourth run. Her last run was moderate but her first two were okay. She'll end up staying further as well and hopefully she might be alright.
Crosse completes double on Race For Cancer winner Quizzical
I'm delighted with that. I'd say it's the first time he's met his ground this year, although we've had soft it's been tacky. He just loves that loose ground and he'll gallop through it. Shane said he jumped, really travelled then he took a pull and settled in behind. He had trouble pulling him up. It's great for the horse that he had a fully fledged one beside his name now. I don't know if there is anything more for him now. He's a brilliant horse to have around for those big handicaps but he just needs a bit of give. The Lincoln was his aim at the beginning of this year but I just got held up with a foot. I had a really troubled spring and summer with him. When he started to come right then it dried up. He's been very busy in the last few weeks after the rain came but I think that's him now. He's a great servant and great to have in the yard.
Tom Mullins bags first Group winner with 33/1 outsider
that's my first Group winner. I was a bit worried about the ground, but I suppose everyone was, and she ran through it. She's very well bred and she's come on leaps and bounds since she won in Dundalk but I was just hoping to be placed. She was improving so much I said it was the last throw of the dice at the end of the season and it's great to get it. To win it I am surprised but thrilled at the same time. She had the option of tomorrow (€120,000 Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Race Final) but she
Mullins completes notable Leopardstown double
he (Takarengo) had 75 and he wasn't getting a decent weight in a proper handicap so today was to try to get him right for next weekend or the weekend after. There is a €50,000 1m4f here next weekend and €10,000 race in Naas in two weeks time. I suppose he'll get a nice raise for that, he's probably entitled to, and it will give him a decent weight in either handicap. Whether he goes next weekend or to Naas I don't know. Then we'll think about hurdling or he could do anything, he's a good horse. He could be an Ebor horse next year, he's only a three-year-old, and he could even go further. He's a good well-bred horse and he's only learning his trade now. He was free early doors in maidens but has learned to settle now and race. The future is bright for him, I hope.

Slattery back on top as Stormborn routs rivals in finale
I brought her away to work yesterday morning, she ended up only doing a blow out. She was so well and I've never seen her to go like it so I rang (agent) Kevin O'Ryan and told him she'd run and she'd win. The lads had a small few quid on her here, they weren't listening to me. She's a good filly. The last two weeks she's after turning the corner to being a real good filly. I'm going to check up now and see if there is a Listed race before the end of the season. If not we'll probably put her away to next season. I didn't look beyond today and she was actually going to Dundalk next Friday night but she was in here and worked so well, so we came here. The only little doubt was that we thought she likes good ground. She's out of a good filly, her dam dam was rated 108.
