McCann's Zafarqand wins Gowran opener
Oliver (Brady) always thought a lot of this horse, and felt he was one of the best he ever had - he’s a class act. He came on a lot from Limerick, and that race has been panning out well. He can only improve again as this was his second run in nearly three years and Davy gave him a peach of a ride. I was going to bring him to Hexham tomorrow but decided it was better to stay at home. I'm delighted for Rita (Shah, owner) who has stuck with us. We had an auld thing (bug) in the yard but have finally got rid of it.
Tagg's Island secures first win at Gowran
Galway is the next step - we might be aiming big but he did that well and hopefully the handicapper is not too hard on him. He's only a small horse and wants that ground or even quicker.
Coolfighter strikes again for Dooly
He deserved to get the race at Wexford on Wednesday, and we decided to run here as we thought it was the last chance for a while to run him in a 0-102. It’s a big drop in grade from the other night. When he hits form he’s good, and he did the same on the flat a few years ago when he won four races close together. I did too much with him at home last year, and he was way too keen. We decided to go back to the old ways and do nothing at home only a hack canter and run him on the track. He could run at the Curragh next Friday in a 0-70.
Well backed Danali wins at Gowran
she was due that, loves the ground and stays well. We'll look for a conditions race preferably a three-mile mares' race but two and a half miles is not a bother to her.
El Vasco wins for O'Dwyer & Doyle
Rocky blows away rivals in feature
I was disappointed with his last few runs over hurdles. I think he twisted himself last year and lost a bit of confidence but he’s been schooling well at home.
Holden registers first training success
I just got my licence two weeks ago, and have eight horses in at the moment. This horse won his point-to-point impressively and was suited by the distance today.
