Donnacha doubles up on Puppetshow
She is a filly with plenty of ability and is much better than them but the thing was to get her to relax and do things right. It worked out nicely; she was the best filly in the race, and when you are going that well you'll find the gaps. I'd imagine finding black-type will be the plan with her.
Donovan records first Irish winner
this is my first winner in Ireland and I’m back about 10 months now. We’ll stay where we are for now - I’m in Bansha, Co Tipperary, and I’ve about ten flat horses to run for the summer. We’ve had five (winners) in England (this year) and the horses have been running well but it’s competitive here so we bring a few across to England and campaign them over there. It’s a tough game but you have to keep at it. This fellow was second at Galway last year and we’ll see what the handicapper does and see how the races come up for him. Young Nathan (Crosse, having his fourth winner) gave him a great ride - I gave him his first ever ride at Dundalk and that’s his second ride for me. He’s based with Willie McCreery and comes down to ride out on Sundays - we’ll try and keep him going now.
Day wins from the front again
I was a bit worried about the ground but he had won on quick ground at Ayr, so I chanced him. The handicapper is close to having a hold of him but David's 7lbs claim was a big help. We'll aim for Galway now.
Bargain buy Geological wins again for English
He's some horse and we call him 'the 800 wonder' at home!. He is some money-spinner and is all guts and heart. I told Donagh to ride him like he gets the mile easy and go hard and he filled him up at the top of the hill. Donagh reckoned he didn't handle the downhill very well though. He's a great kid and has been very lucky for me and has ridden some winners for me. He thrives on his racing but we'll have to put him away now for one of the big pots. We're going to have to go Premier Handicapping now. He's entered in the Scurry Handicap, over five furlongs, but we could also go to Galway for both the seven furlongs and mile Premier Handicaps.

Prince shows Steel to open account
That was more like it. I was very disappointed the last day but, in hindsight, I think it was trainer error as his race at Tipperary took more out of him than I thought it would. He had a good last two weeks though and freshened up well and I was happier coming here today. That's the way to ride him too, inside of being up doing the donkey work, he has a bit of 'lick' to him. He only just does enough. If he won easy, I was going to run in the Ulster Derby but he looks a horse who needs three or four weeks between runs.
