Joza takes thrilling opener at Limerick
I’d say he was just idling a bit in front. The last day he showed so much pace coming from behind, and I’d say that’s the way we’d switch back to riding him again. We’ll go for a nursery next and maybe we might wait until Galway. It could suit him over there. It’s job done now anyway.
Mooney opens his account on Geological
I was wondering if I did the right thing as he won over a mile here last year but he’s so well handicapped at the moment and Stephen gave him a great ride. He ran a blinder in Leopardstown the last day and just got a little bit tired. Stephen is with me since last summer. He’s a great little worker, and his riding has improved out of sight in the last few months. He might make plenty of use of his claim now this summer.
Queen Rabab scores for Stack and Hayes
She is a well-bred filly and that’s the second race she’s after winning. She might go to the sales at the end of the year. Her brother (Blonde Warrior) by Zoffany won a two-year-old maiden the other day for Hugo Palmer and he cost 210,000 as a yearling. She also has a brother that won a Listed race in Australia. The blinkers sparked her up as she doesn’t kill herself.
Have A Nice Day breaks new ground over a mile
That’s his first win at a mile as he’s won ten races at seven furlongs. He stuck it out well today. There is a couple of races Derby weekend for him, and maybe he’ll go back to seven. He’s a tough, genuine little horse and it’s great to get him another win.
Conclusion puts his best foot forward for O'Briens
Murtagh keeps up winning run with Near Kettering
Tom rides out two days a week with us so it’s grand to be able to give him a winner. He’s a good lad, working hard and gave him a beautiful ride. He was just so fresh after running at Leopardstown and I took a chance. I don’t usually like running them so quick but he was really well and it was an ideal race for him. He’s a durable, straight forward horse and hopefully he can win another handicap for us. My head girl Valerie (Keatley) got concussed the other day, and she normally rides this horse out. She is eating a bit today and hopefully is on the mend.
O'Brien now three clear after another double
