Taaffe/Walsh take opener at Gowran Park
He is a Grade Two horse what you see is what you get. He will have a little break now and come back for Fairyhouse and Punchestown. I think he will get 3 miles on better ground Mark [Walsh] said the ground is very bad out there.
Walsh & McManus record double
The yard has been under a bit of a cloud and we'll probably go for a similar type race for this lad.
McNamara seen to good effect
I'm delighted with that and it's my first winner for the owner Thomas Barr. I thought this was a very good renewal of the race and as good a novice chase we've seen for a long time. We put a tongue tie on him today and I'm still not sure if he's mad about the heavy ground. We have no firm plans but he'll be entered in The Jewson Novice Chase at Cheltenham next month.
Solwhit impresses at Gowran Park
That was a great performance it was probably my own fault that he got beaten in Thurles the last day he was only back from Cheltenham 4 days in hindsight we probably shouldn't have run him. As regards plans for him everything will be geared towards next year and tip away for the rest of this year and take on the big boys next season.
Mullins scores with Art Sleuth
The improvement he's shown at home he showed it here today but he didn't like the ground. Hopefully there will be bigger days ahead in The Triumph Hurdle with this lad.
Hangover secures ticket to Cheltenham
I'm delighted with that, he doesn't like that ground but he's so genuine and always puts the best foot forward. He will now go for the Conditional Riders Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham on the Friday.
