Prendergast and Hayes win opener at Curragh
She got knocked down the last day but she ran a good race considering she was only beaten 6 lengths and got into terrible trouble. She'd probably be better over an extra furlong or 2f. I thought today might have been a shade short but she stays on well at the finish and we'll probably go for a conditions race if there is one for her.
Thrilled with that, it's nice to win a pot like that. I thought he had a serious chance today with the lightweight with it being over 5f and the ground was a serious help. He has had a long season so we won't be too pushed on running him again this season.
Oxx wins Group 2
She won well the last day there was no worries about the ground although it was gluey and sticky. She was 3rd in the Oakes and now has won a Group 2 so we'll set her up to try and win a Group 1 now. She might go for the Prix de l'Opera at Longchamp. We're not so sure about 1m ¿ for her but a 1m and ¿ is perfect for her.
O'Brien wins St.Leger at The Curragh
It's a great achievement to win the 5 classics this year. Everyone in the yard has done a great job and the horses have stayed fit and healthy.
Burke and Kinsella continue good run
Through injury and sickness we didn't have a lot of luck and this was not his ground today either. A respectable run here today and we would have been happy. The horse seems to improve this time of year. Hopefully there are bigger things to come and the plan is to look for Races on better ground. We could travel to Baden Baden or Milan if we didn't get the ground here. Robbie came on board the team last week and has ridden 3 horses for me and two of them have won.
Harty's Baron De'l impresses at Curragh
The plan is to go hurdling with him we'll probably go to Punchestown in October and go for the race that Captain Cee Bee won there last year ground permitting. I'd say good ground is his preferred ground and there's not too many horses that have won 5 races around here.
Berry records double
She is a very nice filly and she'd hate that ground. She'll be a good filly for the middle of the Summer next year. Fran gave her a great ride he was very kind to her.
