Weihnachts delivers for Rothwell
That's great. He's been a little bit unlucky for me. He was second in a couple of maiden hurdles and his hurdle rating was a bit too high, he just wasn't going to win off it so we went back over fences. He got brought down in Ballinrobe and two-and-a-half in Clonmel was a bit far for him. The real heavy ground was catching him out and Simon said it didn't feel too bad out there today. I think the ground is the secret with him. I'm delighted and it's great to get a winner. I'll have to speak to Frank (Berry, racing manager) but I'd imagine he would go for a two mile novice handicap at Gowran Park in two weeks time.
Dubai Devils shows off his fitness in Fairyhouse
He sent him for home and that was it,. I said to him before it went out that all he does is stay at a pace. I've struggled to get him fit this year. He's been off a couple of times with touches of leg trouble but thankfully we've got him back. He won't stop eating and I struggle to get the weight off him and get enough work into him to get him right. We said we'd run him to get him fit and run him to keep him fit. I don't do an awful lot with him at home and he's just ticked over since Navan. He was at the beach, walking in the water trying to keep his legs sound, and touch wood he'll be alright in the morning. I can only make day to day plans with him and didn't look any further than today. He's been threatening to do that for a while and is at his peak now fitness wise. He's versatile enough ground wise but I can't chance him on better ground. He's minded like a child and is one of the favourites at home. My nephew rides him out and a little pal of his as well, they come at the weekends. He's an absolute saint of a horse. I'm delighted for the owners, the Skellys, who have been with me a long time. God be good to Lar Skelly who passed away in the summer. They've been good to me and as long as I've been training they've had horses with me and stuck by me.
Roseys Hollow enhances Sweeney's Grade 3 record
She did that nicely so it's great to step up again today. I couldn't be happier,. It looked to be a very strong field. Today was the plan and we'll take one day at a time, I'll have a chat with Frank (Berry, racing manager) and see what they put together. You'd be always hoping to have one like that. That's my third Grade 3 win with a mare and my third runner in a Grade 3. Minutestomidnight won the mares bumper at Punchestown and Barnahash Rose won the Shannon Spray Hurdle in Limerick.
M C Muldoon opens his account over flights
He's a horse that should improve for nicer ground in the spring time and we'll mix it between Flat and jumps with him. I think he'll improve over hurdles as he gets his jumping together. He's a big horse and could jump a fence in time.

Quarry Girl chisels out last-gasp success
I needed to wing the last but she galloped through it. I knew going to the last that if I landed running I had a chance but I didn't and she just got there in the nick of time,. Neither Sean or me knew who had won. She's a staying mare and coming to three out I was flat to the boards. I was about to pull her out, send her on and make use of her, because she lacks a gear, and then I thought she can't go now because what chance would I have up the straight?. I took my time because it's a long way up there in that gruelling ground. It's great as she has a nice pedigree, she is out of a half-sister to Ballabriggs. She was second in a point last year but just took a while to come to hand this year. A few of mine were way off in November/December but we think they've turned a corner. Hopefully we can drive on into the new Flat season as they showing a bit more and grubbing better. They were very wrong coming into Christmas and the back end of the Flat season. That's our first winner in a while, since I rode a winner at Catterick in mid-December. We haven't run loads but we will from here on. I'm enjoying the riding. I'm not going to ride them all or anything like it but I enjoyed that there. I ride two lots of work everyday, it keeps me fit and my eye in. I'll tick away, I'm not sure I'll see a fence though!. I'll have the pick of my rides. Thanks to the owners for letting me do it and I've no issue if any owner wants any certain jockey.
