Walhaan refuses to yield in Foxrock
It didn't go right for him in Navan the last day, but Eoin gave him a no-nonsense ride today, he was very good on him. We felt he had improved at home and we had this race pinpointed after Navan. A flat track on nice ground is really his thing. In fairness, he was going away at the line, from the second, and he's improving away. He's really starting to get the hang of hurdling now. We think there is a nice race on the Flat in him as well. We might mix and match or we might just stay hurdling and then go to the Flat later in the season. It's important he won for the lads (Ask Dot Syndicate) as they are good supporters of the yard, it's lovely to have a winner for them.
Della Casa Lunga puts herself in the shop window
She's been running well and I'm delighted to get that. She was unlucky the last day,. It's probably only coming together for her, she had a few hard races in bumpers and she's only just coming back to herself. She works like a very good mare and hopefully she'll keep going forward. These are great races, with great prize money, and a great job for the likes of her. I'll aim her at the final and might give her a run in between. She's for sale as well.
Clever Currency proves good value at 14/1
He had his wind done at Christmas and maybe needed the run the last day after the break. He didn't run a bad race last time and Ben got to know him there. The plan was to come here and he probably came on a bit from the last day. It's great to see him winning and the syndicate (Force Fifteen), which includes my sister Rebecca, have had plenty of faith in him. He was rated 117 as a four-year-old, he was too high, and he was only getting dropped a pound the whole time. He's rated 105 over fences. He'll actually be better around tighter tracks, I was a bit worried about here but in fairness he gave him a great ride. He was left alone and he obviously didn't go too quick.

It wasn't the plan to make the running, but she took me there and I was a little worried she was doing a bit too much the whole way around, but she picked up well in the straight. I'd imagine we'll give her a chance at some black-type, maybe in Fairyhouse. She has a lovely pedigree. I think that's Brendan's (O'Sullivan) first runner, and winner, in his colours so it's very special for him. It looked like a good bumper on paper and I'd say the second horse is nice. Anything that wins at Leopardstown first time out is normally not too bad.
