Cruciatus makes the breakthrough in Curragh opener
He deserved that win and we'll consider going back in trip with him. There was no pace early so Kevin had to get on with it. I've nothing specific in mind but he’ll probably go back into a Stakes race.
Foxtrot Liv impresses under Lee for Twomey
She is a very nice filly and I hope she'll progress. I said to her owners last week that if she wins on Monday I will be able to say it was great that she got chinned in the photo because she will have the experience. Now that she's done it, in hindsight the three runs is a help but she's done it all on natural ability. I was hoping she would do something like that. We have her in a couple of Stakes races and we’ll sit down and decide what to do. She has a very good temperament and she is very easy to have around.
Spirit proves tough on third maiden start
I was a little bit disappointed at Leopardstown the last day but Colin did say the ground was a little bit quick for her. She should be a filly that will improve and she’s beautifully bred. She always showed a nice bit at home. She got away with the ground today but I think she will improve with a bit more ease in the ground. If we can find a nice fillies handicap now it would be a good stepping stone to see where she fits in.
Hammersmith scores under Coen for Nash
We've always liked him but you can see through the race there that it's just taking a long time to get from his head to his feet. He was green and awkward but at home he doesn’t show any of that. He's like a horse that will improve away as you can see the size of him. He's a big good-looking horse. He could go for the Forans race (final of the series at Naas) and whether he has a run before that or not we'll see.
Chicas battles back in the Curragh feature
She's battled back but she wants seven furlongs. We'll move her up in trip now but where we go I'm not sure. A little bit of dig in the ground might help her as well. Colm said for the first two or three furlongs they were only hacking which probably didn’t suit her.
Bay brings up 88/1 Bank Holiday treble for Harrington
Fiona Carmichael is here today so it’s great. She flew in today to see her horses for the first time this year. That’s the highest he’s ever won off and he’s a great servant. He’s won over seven this year as well, and likes good fast ground. He likes a bit of space around him and doesn’t like big field handicaps.
A Likely Story in the last at the Curragh
He deserved that, and has been running consistently. He's been finding it hard to get his head in front, and Colin said he holds on to a bit for himself. He's a good sound horse, and we'll look for something similar.
