Scaglietti scores on hurdles debut
Paul said she was very green early on and she just got better. I only saw the last two hurdles but she looked to be very efficient doing that anyway! . I'll mix it between flat and hurdle racing for the summer; she has already won on the flat. She has only had one run on the flat but could be a possible for the Amateur Handicap at Galway. She might need to run a few more times. She's not one that will be a chaser in the making though!
Townend rides 12th winner this week
the experience from last season was a huge benefit to him and he seems to like that ground. When he was beaten last season we put him by for this season and said if there was rain and a bit of nice ground we'd run and that's what we have done. If the ground stays nice we'll continue with him and if not we'll give him a break. I'd prefer to continue with him and he has a flat mark so there may be a day out with him on the flat too. He is a horse who unlikely the first filly (Scaglietti) that will see a fence in time as he is a fine big strong horse. Paul is riding with great confidence and is injecting that into the horses.

'Like-for-like' Russell proves a super-sub on Walsh's winner
he had a nice run in Tipperary in his first handicap which was promising and Davy Russell did the finishing touches today. Ambrose (McCurtain) was to be riding him but got a fall in Kilbeggan yesterday and couldn't stand today as he got a kick on the backside. My horses were off colour during the winter and we weren't doing much but we seem to be back again. This fellow wants good ground and we'll look for another handicap next.
Nearly Nama'd bounces back to his best in Listowel feature
The jockey said he enjoyed it so much today, and the odd time he'd miss a fence but didn't today. He has won a lot of prize money and is a good old horse when it comes right for him.
Evergreen Fringe shows no signs of stopping
I was praying this rain wasn't going to come as he loves good ground and I think he's even fitter today than he was at Killarney as he has taken so long to get fit. He is 14 but at home he is showing us he is seven. I said to Frank Berry leaving the back straight 'we are cooked here' but fair play to Aine what a ride as she persevered and all the gaps came and a good jump at the last put it to bed. We'll never say never but we'll have a long summer to think about it (possible retirement).
