Mister Blue Sky calls the tune in Wexford
Mandarin Monarch reigns under Maxwell
He has been a great horse for the lads, that's the fourth race he is after winning. He won two at Dundalk and he is after winning two over hurdles now. We will see if the ground stays okay we might continue over hurdles and if not he will probably appear at Dundalk at some stage over the winter. He could go for something like this again or else we could try him off a low weight in a more valuable handicap. He should stay further. He got a mile and a half well on the Flat and all he does is battle. He is not the most impressive at home but the last two days he easily could have come out the wrong side of it but he stuck the head down well both times. Hopefully there will be a bit more fun to be had with him.
Cairnhill routs his rivals
I won a bumper on her mother around here (Seepeeoh in October of 2006). She was cracked and ran away with me. Doyen has calmed down the genes a bit. He has won by sixteen lengths but I don't think he is that good because he is well-exposed in bumpers and maiden hurdles. It just worked out today. He enjoyed the ground and he enjoyed the drop back in trip today as well. His mother wasn't a stayer. Unfortunately I don't have him entered on Friday, that's my only regret. I'm very pleased. We made the running the last twice with him and it seems to be helping. He'll go for another two mile handicap somewhere now.
Churchtown Glen sees it out best in Wexford
He (Donie McInerney) gave him a peach of a ride. The winning line is up an awful lot further up the straight than you'd think. I was watching it from the stands and didn't realise it. He coaxed him around, he rode a point-to-point race. He rode him to get the trip. I'd say he is only a horse who is trying to decide whether he likes the game or not. Donie gave him the best ride he has given in a long time. He is awesome over a fence. He was going point-to-pointing if he didn't win today. His handicap mark will be low so I'd suppose he will be able hurdle away for a while. They are making a great effort with these average horses with the races they have now. It means you can be competitive, you don't mind not winning but you'd like to be competitive.
Beeper's Ruby foils Youcantcallherthat in Wexford
She ran well the time before last at Downpatrick. The last day the ground was too quick for her. She had a good run at Punchestown a year ago in a bumper where she finished sixth. She has ability but is inclined not to jump that well. Conor said she jumped well today and travelled. She just outstayed them more than anything, she kept going the best and picked up from the back of the last. She will probably go for another handicap hurdle. I'd say that is her ground today, we were probably running her on ground that didn't suit at times during the summer. Sean (Gallagher, owner) has four or five with me. Commander Won is a good flag bearer for him on the Flat and I had one for him yesterday that was third (Court Adjourned).
Peregrine takes the season feature at Wexford in style
I'm delighted he won and to be honest I was disappointed with his last two runs. It's great for him to be back winning. He will be entered for the weekend at Down Royal and if the ground is quick and he comes out of this okay he might go up there for the second season novice. More than likely he'd be finished up for the season after that. He is after winning ten races for us now so he is doing a right job. If the ground is quick, and he is okay, Down Royal is where we are going to go. It's been dry for so long that when it starts raining it probably won't stop. It's great for his owners. It's a pity Mine Now got a fall but he got up. He is in great form the whole time. We changed tactics a bit too much on his last few runs, we were riding him a bit handier with the blinkers on him. That was probably the wrong thing to do because he has to be switched off out the back, and that's what we done with him today. He was well entitled to win today with his mark. Dropping him in and getting him switched off is the way to ride him. Hopefully it'll stay dry until the weekend at Down Royal.

Mount Pelier delights Fleming in Wexford
He had two solid runs at Leopardstown and Naas. Navan might have been a run too much for him at the end of last season so we didn't mind that. He grinded it out there today, he is a three-mile horse so you'd be delighted to get a bumper win with him. I'm not sure whether he'll go for a winners' bumper but I'd say he will be in his comfort zone over three miles in novice company. He is a brilliant jumper. He had a run over hurdles the first day at Punchestown and ran a lovely race, so he will have no problem going back hurdling now straight away. He is a good, honest, genuine horse.
