Title chasing jockeys dominate Fairyhouse opener
She did it well. I thought the favourite was thrown in off the weights but in fairness to her she stuck at it well and she had a bit of a look when she got there,. She wasn't killing herself when I got to the front so hopefully she can improve again. They went very fast so I just kept her comfortable and sat in there. It seemed to work out anyway.
26/1 Fairyhouse double for the O'Brien brothers
She had a few good runs. I wasn't sure about her on this ground but she seemed to get through it well,. She broke smartly, I got a nice position and she's done things right. I think she has a good pedigree so it's nice to get a win into her.
No Mistake from Schroders on 4th start
She had a good first run and that race in Leopardstown has worked out well,. We got very brave then and took a chance in a stakes race. She wasn't disgraced and ran a solid race. In Down Royal it was a bit sharp for her. Niall rode her at home since and thought she had got stronger and come forward. She showed another facet to her game there today by handling that ground, which has gone on soft, as she had been running on top of the ground. She seemed to lean a bit left and we'd need to iron that out, as you can't really be doing that. I'm delighted with that and it's nice for the owners. We might go for the final of this. That's seven and there is also a nice race on the same day over six so we have options.
Silver Spear puts important win on the board at Fairyhouse
She's a nice filly and she's a half-sister to Creggs Pipes so the bit of ease in the ground helped,. We were going to let her off but John has an Australia half-brother to her going to Tattersalls next month and he wanted the dam to breed a two-year-old winner. That's done now. I might keep her now and go for the Birdcatcher. We might as well.
Blenheim Stakes goes for export to Dascombe's Sir Boris
Pillar now Dundalk bound after 4th career win
He's slipped down the weights. Even though he went in the muck there he's better on a sound surface so I'm looking forward to him in Dundalk,. He should get another one or two hopefully. The handicapper isn't going to kill him. It's very testing out there, most of those horses need good ground out there and it's just who is lucky, gets to the front and gets through it. Colin was to ride him but I took him off and put him on Ken's Sam's because she had the inside draw and it was good ground at the time. It was great to get a win for Sean Gallagher who is a long standing patron of mine. It's great to get his name on the board.
Bigger And Better and Harnett going from strength to strength
I'm delighted for the horse and the owner. He's a great man and he had the patience to stick with him,. We had a lot of issues, and a lot of bad luck with him, but touch wood he's well and firing now. Hopefully he can keep going for another while. The last day in Listowel I think he was a bit lethargic and idle, he dropped back to last and came home flying. Whereas today he carried him and it was the same in Gowran. It was just one of those days, maybe it was the track and maybe he was just a bit lethargic. I'd say they were two alright ones though.
Naas November Handicap now for progressive Jewel
It was a confident ride from Chris. She handles that ground and she's done it nicely,. The plan was to come to the stand's side where the better ground was. I said to Chris to come with a long run down the stand's rail. She could go for the Naas November Handicap now.
