Our Conor takes opener as Leyland disappoints
It was a weak maiden. He had run well in a good Curragh maiden first time out. He will probably win a handicap and the handicapper shouldn't be too hard on him for his win today. He will probably be better going further. He was bought to be a dual purpose horse as a yearling at Goffs and he will definitely make a hurdler in time.
Tough performance from Theyturnedmedown
He wore blinkers once as a 2yo and we put them on him again recently. The plan was to drop him in but he jumped off in front and kept on galloping and stayed there.
'Madam' Violet shows her ability
I was a bit worried beforehand but she is just a madam. I'm delighted today was her day and I'm glad she got through. She won very well and seems to stay and I'm not very worried after today.
Well backed Gra lands a gamble
Soft ground was a major plus for her. The young lad (winning rider Marc Monaghan) say she was eager to get to the front so there was no point in disappointing her. He rides well and she will go to Sligo next.

Ainama wins Connacht National for the Madden's
That was great, I'm delighted. He ran a nice race that last day at Listowel and he was a bit unlucky there. He loved the trip today. He is a handy horse but these are grand fences around here. He will get an entry in the Galway Plate now and may go there. Niall gave him a great ride.
