'Zoffany's daughter' wins in old Magnier silks
Claonadh lands gamble on debut
the name was the hint (Claonadh is the Irish for the trainer and ex-footballer's home town of Clane)!. she’s a different filly on that ground. She missed the kick and was a bit back but Billy said she did it all very easy and went to pull herself up when she hit the front. What more could you ask for first time out and she quickened up nicely. She was very weak at the start of the year and is after growing into herself. She’s a hardy little devil and we will see what is there for her in the spring time.
'Derby type' wins for Curragh's leading jockey
Menagerie lands the odds in style
O'Brien & Browne McMonagle double up with Lady Dahlia
Hayes completes Curragh double
we came here today over a mile because I thought she was getting quicker and Chris said she travelled very sweet. The ground seems to suit her. We’ll probably give her a little break now and we might see her over hurdles in about six or eight weeks. That was a nice pot to get and I’m delighted.
McConnell off the mark in 'the Jerry Hannon'
I went to school in Monaghan and did my leaving cert. I wasn’t sure about college so I went to work full-time for John. I took out an apprentice license before lockdown but had to wait a while to get going. I’ve a few options whether to keep riding or go to college next year and I’ll see how Dundalk goes in the next couple of months. Dad has a good team of horses and I’m in competition with Siobhan (Rutledge) who is riding very well.
