Gambled newcomer shows a 'touch of class'
we thought he was a nice horse all year and he's always shown plenty of speed. He's taken this long as he had a dirty lung and got sick and is just back. I thought I'd left plenty on him fitness-wise but he has a touch of class and a lot of raw speed. It probably helped him leaving it to late in the year as it gave him a bit of time. We'll put him away now and he'll be a real nice sprinter next year on fast ground.
Second course and distance win for Frenzy
I'm delighted and it was a straightforward ride by Fran.I don't know what happened to him last time as I expected him to win but he was much better today and Fran was well pleased with him.
Tsar Paul finally wins on 19th start of year
Anna gave him a good confident ride and they are probably unlucky they haven't won before now. He'll run again on Wednesday over six.
First Irish training win for Greek ex-jockey
I trained on the east coast of the US for six years, am originally from Athens and was a professional jockey for 16 or 17 years. We have 22 horses at the moment but have 45 boxes and are trying to get a bit bigger. We bought a couple of yearlings during the summer and also have national hunt horses. I've been in Ireland two years now and came to work for Mr McCann (Patrick McCann, winning owner).
Trainer Butterly has first Irish flat winner
we claimed him for E9,000 and he's a cheap horse now. He's rock solid and we'll have a bit of fun with him. He's in again next Wednesday and we'll see how he comes out of this.
Oliver doubles up with 'very good' newcomer
I'm delighted; we think he's a very good horse . we hope so anyway. . He's very green and very inexperienced but this was one of the only opportunities for him. There was this race or one in two weeks so he had to come. I said to Chris (Hayes) that he's knows nothing but if you get him into the race I think he has ability and he showed that. It was a great ride and he really looked after him. He's a prospect and one to look forward to in staying races.
Moonmeister takes Dundalk finale
he won well again and Luke gave him a great ride. He's in again on Wednesday and we'll see how he is. He'll finish up before Christmas as he's going to go hurdling.
