At last. That's my first festival winner. We've had plenty of seconds and thirds so that's great,. He's out again on Sunday and he'll take a lot of beating - I'm telling you now! Although the bank is closed now!

It was a good workmanlike performance. He had the race won from a long way out,. He's green and a bit nervous. He'll come on from the race and learn a lot from it - he's a colt I like and I thought he would win. He's really come along in the last couple of weeks. He gets through the ground and is strong. I might look at a nursery for him and go forward from there.

Wellforth turns out again to score

He had a super run earlier in the week and luckily enough we're close to home so we were able to get him into the field straight away. He spent yesterday in the field,. I was just hoping he wouldn't be flat. At one stage he looked in trouble but when he pulled him wide he was grand. The owner (Clare Ellam) is from Uttoxeter in England and bought him on the night he won over there. I like to think he'd turn into an English National horse one day. His jumping keeps him in his races.

She's a lovely mare. I've been waiting all year for a nice bit of ground with her!. She's a big staying mare and loves to gallop. She'll appreciate much better ground as she's a good mover. It shows that if they're good enough they'll win on anything. My only concern was the testing conditions. It probably wasn't the strongest contest but all she can do is win. There is lots to look forward to and she'll probably go to the Galtres Stakes at York next.
