The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Anteros (IRE), compared with its previous run at Cartmel on 20 July 2019 where the gelding finished 7th of 10 runners, beaten by 50 lengths, was considered.
Sophie Leech's comments that the gelding may have appreciated being stepped back up in trip as well as a return to fences were noted and Anteros (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Tom Bellamy reported that Powerful Symbol (IRE), which was pulled up, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Goohar (IRE), which was pulled up, was lame on his right fore.
