Gerbera Gets it Right in Style
Condon Back in Business on Home Soil
The owner, Frank Doyle owns the arboretum in Leighlinbridge. He has had horses with myself and Willie in the past. This horse has shown ability in the past but then he went off the wall a bit. We brought him to a horse dentist, Tom Fleming in Dungarvan, and he fixed him up. I hope he'll be a Galway horse. If the handicapper doesn't go too mad with him he might win a couple of more races.
In-Form Murphy/Madden in the Number One Again
He was sick through the winter and he'd probably prefer a longer trip. He is bred for staying chasing. The owner, George Moore has three horses with me, including Highglen, who won here this year (on New Year's Day). Moore owns a nursing home in Wales and also has horses with Peter Bowen.
Shernaz Does Better on Return to Tramore
He won a point-to-point last year in Ballingarry. He was crying out for this ground. He'll run in handicaps for the rest of the summer. He is a great jumper. I was disappointed with Sharp River in the first but this makes up for it. The owner, Paul Heneghan, has another filly in the yard too.
Madden Doubles-Up Again
He'll stay handicapping and it'll be one step at a time. The Galway Blazers on the Saturday of the Festival would be in my mind though.
More Joy for Cleary and Power
I always liked this fellow. He is pretty versatile as regards ground. I'll talk to the owners about where he'll go next. I was happy with the way Eddie rode him - he had the balls to take the initiative. I have ten horses in the yard.
