He was so fresh in the stable yard today and is a very intelligent horse. He was robbed the last day with the draw, and is ultra consistent. He ups his game when you want him to and is so easy to train. He'll get a little holiday now. He deserves it.
Smullen excels on rare foray for Walsh
It's about 20 years since Pat Smullen rode a winner for me. It was the year he was champion apprentice and I'd say he's rode one horse for me since as he's so hard to get,. It was on a filly called Dunemer (1995) in a nursery at Galway. That was great. She was knocking on the door and was 13lb better with Clutchingatstraws for a couple of lengths, so she had a chance.

She needed it the last day and I knew she had come on. The other filly I ran will also come on from that (Hallbeck, finished fifth),. Now I can concentrate on going hurdling as the two of them were bought as dual purpose fillies. It's a great bunch of lads who own them (Phoenix Bloodstock Syndicate) and I told them I fancied her as she had improved a ton. Now that she's won I'm going to buy a few more for them.
