Jetara takes full advantage of Fairyhouse opportunity under Kennedy
It's lovely to get a maiden hurdle and she did it right today, she relaxed today,. In Down Royal she was like a lunatic over the first two and galloped straight into them. She actually schooled at the Curragh on Tuesday, jumped 12 hurdles, and it just took the edge off her. She went in the ground, heavy is not really for that family. She'll go along the mares route and it'll be two-and-a-half miles. She has black-type in bumpers and now we'll try and get black-type over hurdles for her, she's a beautifully bred filly. She's quite strong, she's not as small as the other ones. She's bigger than most of her family. She was like a little tiger today walking around here and it's great to get it.
Better Days Ahead completes quick double for Jack Kennedy
Jack said he would have done more at home and it was a nice school around for him,. It was a nice confidence booster after falling the last day. He jumped great there today. He'll have to head for one of those good novice hurdles now, whether it's this side of Christmas or not I don't know. Three miles won't bother him or he could go back to Navan in a few weeks time for one of those novice hurdles there because he didn't have a hard race there. He probably likes a bit of soft ground, the way he handled it there. Jack said when he gave him a squeeze after the second last he picked up very quickly.
Policeman has to work on chase debut
Dragon Rocks wins Lorna Brooke Challenge for Team Ireland
He loves soft ground and loves a trip,. Brian Hughes is a fair judge, he rode him in Bangor one day when the ground was goodish and he said 'don't run this horse on this kind of ground anymore. I want you to bring him back for all the nationals next year, he'll stay all day'. Rachel owns him with a few other people and it's great to get it. It's great to see the horses back well again, I had a quiet spell but they are back flying again. I love having a good chaser and I think he's a nice chaser. It was an ordinary race, he carried a lot of weight and was the best horse in it. I'm delighted to have the job done now. We'll have a look for something over Christmas. My own young lad has actually got his licence in England today and we're absolutely thrilled, he's only 16. He can ride in hunter chases and some of those chases in England. I'll probably get a phone call in about five minutes that he has a race picked out for him in England!. If he has, we're not going to stop it. He's a good fun horse and he jumps well. The only mistake he made there was at the last and I shut my eyes!'
Grange fights off Global in hunters
Mikey gets a great tune out of him, he's very laid-back but he gets on with him,. He won a hunter chase well in Clonmel last year. He runs better fresh because he disappointed at the end of last season. We'll tick away with him and at least he's won one anyway. We could go back for the Tetratema (Hunters Chase) at Gowran with him.
Danny The Fence shows bottomless stamina to win under McGill
That was grand. We went to Carlisle and I'd say the ground was too quick for him,. I'd say the rider was a big help there, he's some value. He's a professional riding as an amateur. You have to hand it to him, he's a very good rider.
Jeroboam Machin another smart prospect for Mullins and Byrne
He's a nice horse, he came well recommended from Cormac (Doyle) and did it well in his point-to-point,. He's not the flashiest horse at home but no matter what we worked him with, whether it be lesser lights or better horses, he was always there within half a length of them. He just gives what's asked of him and hopefully he could have a big future. He doesn't show much at home but thankfully he does it on the track. Patrick knew the craic with him at home and felt that he'd give him a good education here today, hopefully he'll come on plenty for it. He's a lovely big horse and I'd imagine he'll go over hurdles now. He could go for a maiden hurdle at Christmas, he likes soft ground and operates on that. We'll take it from there.
