Carberry off the mark for new boss Collins
I'm delighted with Pencil Hill and Megan gave him a lovely ride. The race suited him as it was a small field. That's Megan's first winner for me since she signed on with me (as an apprentice) last year.
Pique Sous books Cheltenham ticket
I'm delighted with the way he handled the surface . he hadn't been on it before but I didn't want to run him on heavy ground. Whether he comes back here again or goes straight over to Cheltenham I don't know yet but we'll see how he comes out of this. That win has booked his ticket for the Supreme Novices Hurdle but I don't think he'll run over jumps before then . he's a spring horse. When I saw this race come up I thought it would be a good opportunity for him.
Lily blows rivals away
I'm happy with that! She's a nice filly with plenty of ability and Fergal said she had plenty left.
Fortune finally favours Cookie
at long last! She's been a bit of a heart break and has had bits and pieces of problems and should have won in Wolverhampton.
Double for Roche ahead of 21st celebrations
La Belle Maison had a very bad infection in a hind leg as a two year old and that set her back a year and she didn't really mature the way other horses mature. She'll either run again or go straight to stud but I don't think she'll run again. Her owner/breeder is Patrick Burns, of Newlands House Stud, and she is going to be covered by Born To Sea (Sea The Stars' brother).
Giant-killer English scores third winner
he's a very consistent horse . that's three wins and three seconds in 18 months! .He is a mile and a quarter horse who doesn't settle and will come back here at the end of the month for a race over seven furlongs or a mile.
