Plenty of punters In Ecstasy after opener
Twomey hopes Show Of Stars has bright future
I was hoping she'd do something like that. She had a good debut run in Killarney on ground she wouldn't have liked and all of ours come forward plenty from their first start. With natural improvement I was hoping something like that would happen. Johnny's (Murtagh) filly (Maeve Of Connaught) had good form and there were plenty in it with good form, I'd say she's a nice filly. She has good entries and I'd say she's entitled to have good entries. We'll start her in the easiest spot we can next year but I think she's good enough to run in stakes company, probably in an Oaks trial rather than a Guineas trial.
Opportunities open up for Freescape
He had a good comeback run here the last day and he would have needed it a little bit,. I think he'll be better over a mile, he got away with it today. I don't think they went as strong a gallop as I thought they would but he came home well anyway. It's good to have him back, there are two €20,000 handicaps on the run up to Christmas and the next day is over a mile so that should be fine. We'll see where we go from there and he might go back to Dubai. If he wins another one of those we might bring him.
66/1 Mullacash Buzz a dream start for Dowling
That's my first runner and first winner, thank God. He goes well enough at home and we thought he was better than a 46-horse but we didn't expect that in a million years and we're over the moon. We're a small operation, we only have a handful of horses, and it's nice to start things off on the right foot. It's only myself and my other half Nicola doing them at home. We work hard and it's nice to reap the rewards. We're based in Mullacash (near Naas) and the owner Martin Flinter is actually our landlord, we rent the yard off him, so it's quite fitting that our first winner is for him. We only have seven horses at the minute. We'll try building quality rather than quantity, we'll keep the numbers low and swap out the ones that can't win.
There's No Speed Limit on the sand
It was a long time coming and the wee horse deserved it after two seconds. My son Conor is passionate about horses and this is his own horse. He should actually be at a function tonight for Tyrone to get his all-Ireland medal but he's here so I don't know what they'll make of that!. These races are hard to come by, it's very competitive and our horses are cheap horses doing a fun job. It's a family-run thing and Emmet and Conor are a big help to me. It's not about the money, it's about the game and the passion for it. My father trained them for years and then I took the licence out in the past few years. It's a part-time job, I wouldn't do it full-time. It's more of a hobby and I'm delighted for everybody.
