In fairness she needs soft ground, . I came here very hopeful with the rain we got but when I came here I was surprised. Once I got down the road I thought she'd be in the first four but didn't think she'd win it. In fairness to Darren Bunyan (trainer of non-runner in the race Snow Patch) he rang me first thing this morning so I was able to go early and we needed that as well. I have only two horses in training at the moment; there's nothing I love more than training horses but it is hard when you are a small yard. You have to do the best you can with what you have because you don't always have good horses. I'm happy this lady has done that so hopefully we can get a bit of notice again and people might consider me.
Jungle Jane a speedy sort over five
She's an out and out five furlong filly and Billy gave her a great ride; he said he'd come up the stands' side. That's where the better ground is and when it's any way soft it is often quicker ground along the stands' side. She is in the Rockingham and we'll keep going and try to nab some black-type at the end of the year to go breeding. She is a grand, tough, hardy little filly. She did that (jinked) one day at Dundalk and lost about two lengths but she's not stupid and knows where she comes in and out!
'Group filly' gives Twomey one-in-four strike-rate
I felt she was weak last year and I said to the owner the best thing to do was leave her alone until this year and I think she'll make a lovely three year old. She was in the 1,000 Guineas until the five day stage and it wasn't by accident; she has Group entries and we'll see how she comes out of this and we'll take our time with her. I think she is Group class.
Team Slattery score with War Flight
he is very big and raw, he is 16.2hh. We gave him a run in Dundalk and he has come on plenty from it and I think he is a nice horse. He won with his ears pricked and is still a big baby. He is owned by the Goodcraic Syndicate from Sligo and we are open to offers to sell him. We have nothing in mind next and we'll make a plan after this.
A second Junction win for Rock On Seamie
It worked out great and Darragh gave him a fantastic ride,. He wasn't seeing out 1m4f last year but I might step him up again as he seems a bit stronger this year. We might look at running him in the Apprentice Derby. We will be busy away for the summer, as long as the horses aren't balloted out.
Three for Lee at Tipperary
We liked him last year, he ran well in a couple of maidens but was just raw. We actually ran him in the Beresford Stakes as we had him in and the race cut up. He finished last of the five but we got prizemoney and we made money. Today he did everything he should do and it was a nice ride from Billy.
