Quel Reve keeps unbeaten record intact despite scare
I'm lucky that I'm riding a lot of good horses and once I keep guiding them around they'll keep winning. The horses are the main part of it. The last was the first hurdle that I met on my own and she just didn't quite attack it the way I was hoping she would and she landed on all fours. A bit of class got her through, to battle back when the other horse came to her. It takes a fair one to win a bumper first time and then back it up again over hurdles. I'm very happy with her and hopefully Willie will find a nice novice now for her.
No Problem for Champagne in Kilbeggan rout
Row on the mark again as Danny Mullins doubles up
He likes good ground and that's why we pulled him out again so quick,. We loved to think we'd go to Listowel but if it's soft ground he doesn't handle it. We'll pick somewhere again in about two weeks time and then he'll go chasing. He's a lovely well made horse and the O'Byrnes are into national hunt racing all their lives. Roddy, that owns him, would love to have a chaser and so would I. I told Danny going out that Roddy is one of the old type owners and that he'd let you ride him your way, don't be panicking about having to be up there or anything. I said you ride him the way you see fit and Roddy will agree with that, that's what he did. Things went wrong in Limerick and that's why he was 25/1 in Tramore. He hit into himself coming down the hill in Limerick and it ruined his stride. Danny thought he had gone lame and went to pull him up. I don't mind he was 25/1 then but I just cannot believe he was 7/1 today. On my reading of the book all he had to do was what he did last week.
Soir another Grand winner for in-form trainer McConnell
I said to Simon in the ring if he had natural progression from his first start over hurdles he could run well here,. He's very laid back at home, we paid an awful lot of money for him and he really didn't show much at home when he got him even though he's a beautiful horse. We've been lucky with a lot of them but he was a real big one for us as Derek puts a lot of money into it. I couldn't even tell him he was flying up the gallops. He's probably a three-mile plus chaser in the making. If he hadn't done something today we were going to have to go back to the drawing board. He was good there, he obviously likes nice ground and there is plenty more to come I'd say. He never travelled. In fairness we have Thomas Reilly at home in the yard, he's ridden a few winners for me, and I put him on him about a month ago. He's after getting him to travel a lot better than he has before at home. I have to put that win down to him as he's been a different horse in the last couple of weeks. You still want to see it on the track and it's brilliant that he's translated that. Whether we go chasing this season or potter around in novice hurdles for the year, I don't know. I don't think he's a winter horse, he handled that ground really well. I'd say we could give him a break in October and bring him back February or March time.

Thecompanysergeant comes good on second start under rules
I'm delighted with that. He had a lovely run in Galway, he stayed on and John gave him a lovely ride there and minded him,. I was a little bit worried that it had gone too quick for him today but to be fair they put plenty of water on it. I walked it and was happy enough. John gave him another lovely ride and I'm delighted for the owner Martin Cooney, it's his first horse with me. He ran well in a point-to-point but we put him away for a while and gave him a chance to develop. He should make a nice hurdler and will go with an ease in the ground. We might see what is in Listowel for him, there might be a winners bumper there. Martin will be going down there so we'll probably pitch him in there.
