Boulea has her day
It's been a terrible job just to get her right. My wife Imelda bred her, and she is owned by Michael Barrett from Ballingarry. He rode quite a few winners including a Conyngham Cup at Punchestown. She won a point-to-point and jumping is her forte. Usually there are 8 hurdles in a two-mile hurdle race but there are 11 today and that helped her.
Century up for Russell
We'll keep him going for the summer now and he's a real chaser. He's a full brother to Ruben Cotter (beat Dedigout in a Dungarvan point-to-point and now in training with Paul Nicholls). The syndicate (Byrnsey Boys) is a family based one that includes my sons.
Fitz finally gets it right
That's about time! She has been unlucky a few times, and probably came up against well handicapped horses. She'll mix it over hurdles and fences now, and will be kept on the go for the summer.
Mangan rides out 7lb claim
She's some girl, she gave him a brilliant ride. The only pity is that her 7lb claim is now gone. She's ridden six winners for me this season. We're lucky that we have two of the best girl jockeys in the world riding for us. It was too sharp for him around here but he won anyway.
Welcome change of fortune for O'Neill
We weren't expecting it, and I'm not sure where we go next. Gerry has a half share in him, and I also have another one with Philip Fenton that might run later in the year.
Dundee jumps his way to success
He's been very disappointing over hurdles. We thought he was a good horse when he won his point-to-point but then he got a leg injury and was given all the time in the world to recover. He just came back this year and we had no real reason for his bad runs. All I can say is that's the difference a fence makes!
Hillman in a thriller
Cahill opens account with Crest
I've had a few winners in point-to-points but that's my first on the track. We gave her a chance today and it was the plan to make the running. She'll probably have a break now.
