Scalor scores at 25/1 for Doyle & Flanagan
He’s not a bad little horse. He was second in his bumper first time out and I had settling issues with him. The better ground also helped and he had a bit of a blow so hopefully he can progress. We might have a look at something in Galway.
Cheltenham the long term aim for Rescue Package
The allowances she received made me decide to go for this rather than a maiden. You never know what you will find in a maiden and we met Dolcita last year at Tramore.
Rasiym scoots home around Kilbeggan
Bective a poignant winner for connections
The Trigger fires Flanagan to 103/1 double
He was brave and did it well. Sean was excellent on him and he never missed a beat. I thought he was beat turning for home, but Sean switched him to the inside and he stayed on well after the last,. He’s looking amazing at the minute and when he hits a bit of form he seems to keep it. His last four runs have been very good. Just before the lockdown, the horses weren’t quite right but they are healthier now and starting to run to form. He’s in again at Gowran and Limerick during the week but he doesn’t usually bounce back that well running quick. We’ll see how he is after that. He was four and a half kilos heavier today than he was when he won at Tipperary, so I was thinking he was getting too fat. I don’t train him too hard — I made that mistake before. When you train him hard and try to gallop the weight off him then he goes back ways.
Some day for Sextons as Kevin finds Turbo switch
He was the highest-rated horse so I suppose he was entitled to do that. The horses weren’t firing last year for some reason so hopefully that’s the first of a few more winners.
Eimear makes it a Kilbeggan brace for Smith
I’m delighted to get a winner for Gerry Smyth. He’s not with me that long and is a lovely man.
