Bonnie records second Festival win
He didn't win like a horse that had 16lb in hand (referring to the handicapper's reaction to Monday's win). We'll freshen him up now and probably up him in class, possibly at Dundalk. He's a lovely progressive horse, and should be better next year. Danny really likes him.
Loose proves a stunner for punters
I wasn't that surprised as he won over nine furlongs on soft ground at Ayr a few years ago, and he had a wind operation over the winter. He needs 1m1f or a mile and a quarter and, while he's handicapped over hurdles, I'd rather go for another Flat handicap. He was mad fit but I thought he wouldn't get in today as he was originally 19 on the ballot list.
Ranger arrives late in feature
He loved the ground and has plenty of ability but is a bit quirky. They went a good gallop and thankfully they came back to me eventually. It's great to win a nice pot.
Allied has the Answer
He's a nice horse, and the ground was a bit quick for him on his first two starts. The trip and the ground were a big help to him, and he's a nice one to look forward to.
Laganbank looks an impressive novice
It was a tactical race and Ruby didn't want to get into a battle with Alderwood who we know stays well. I was a bit worried about the ground beforehand but he's a much stronger horse this year and seems to handle it much better. There is a race at Tipperary in a few weeks but that may come a bit too soon, and his main target is probably the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse. He shows alot at home and has the size and scope to improve.
Joey scores for O'Brien & Doyle
He's a decent horse and won a point-to-point last year but was a shade disappointing afterwards. He probably just needed the run at Galway last time. I always put him down as a good ground horse but he got through that alright.
Pulse brings relief to Taaffe
We had two viruses in a row but are out of the trenches and ready to fight again! Thankfully the horses seem to be healthy again, and hopefully we can build on this. This has been a great horse for us winning a Jewson at Cheltenham and a Galway Plate.
Dream winner for Hayes
I thought she was a good mare but to be honest I didn't think she was that good. We have no real plans but she is for sale.
