Dempsey in flying form as Galway approaches again
Versin Getorix thrills John Ryan team with debut win
He's the real deal, he's a good horse,. I didn't think he'd win, I was hopeful coming here but we hadn't huge expectations as we thought it was a tight enough race. He's a very good horse but he suffered from ulcers and my daughter Gillian really sorted him out and got him right. He looked like a lovely horse early in the year but lost his way and I have to give a lot of credit to Gillian. He'll go to Galway for a novice hurdle now.
Canford Light maintains terrific form for Tom Mullins team
I tried the Flat with him but he just rejected it on his last run in Gowran. We put him over hurdles and he took to it like a duck to water in Punchestown where he was second,. That was a great run and we just bided our time to make sure he was right for the next day and this was the next day. He jumped very well today, improved in his jumping. He could go to Galway but he's also in the sales at Doncaster. He's a good four-year-old horse, a summer type of horse but he could run away up until Christmas. I might give him a try back on the Flat if I see a race that suits him. He had issues as a two and three-year-old but we fixed them. Jack was very tactically aware on him there. He's not really a 7lb claimer anymore, he really rode well today and used his head. He let the boys at it and came at them on the last bend.
Tom Mullins and Jack Foley double up at Kilbeggan
I didn't know (if he was up) as I watched it head on but I got plenty of texts saying well done so I knew then,. He's an old horse with ability. He lost his way over fences a bit and we were just giving him a run back over hurdles to see if he would take an interest and he did. Jack was great on him again. He didn't give up on him and he jumped really well for him after jumping the first couple big. He was a good hurdler in his day, he was third in the Galway Hurdle for Rachael Blackmore. Jack's claim was a big help, the 7lb made the difference with him getting up a short-head.
On to Galway now for Hogan with Kilbeggan scorer Royal Aide
I didn't think we went a mad gallop but he was just loving it,. He's a horse that's after dropping down the handicap a little. We tried him in a bit of headgear working at home and it seemed to work well. He enjoyed it today and surprised me really. I'm not sure where we'll go but we might look at the three-mile handicap hurdle in Galway.
Not Available brings de Bromhead's Friday score to four
374/1 Kilbeggan treble for Jack Foley
She was very good there. In fairness to Adam Short he rode her the last day and suggested dropping her back in trip and trying her over fences again. It seemed to work,. It's the first time Jack has rode for me on the track and he gave her a peach, just dropped her on the line. She won a point-to-point, won over hurdles and she had been knocking on the door. She didn't have a great time at the back end of last year and started off a bit slow this year. On her last run at Roscommon she was fourth and she was showing a few signs of coming back to herself and we're happy with today.
