Permission was given for Percy Willis (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Shortly after the start, a hard pulling Ravenswing (IRE), unplaced, shifted right-handed, bumping heavily with Percy Willis (GB), unplaced, which became unbalanced and made contact with the quarters of Appier (IRE), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approaching the final furlong, Fearless Bay (IRE), unplaced, edged right-handed at the same time that Appier (IRE), placed fourth, lugged left-handed, causing a weakening Eloso (IRE), unplaced, to be steadied by its rider, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong involving the winner, Lexington Knight (IRE), ridden by Robert Havlin and Auntie Margaret (FR), placed second, ridden by Franny Norton.
Havlin was cautioned for careless riding as he had been slow to correct his mount from drifting left-handed, slightly hampering Auntie Margaret (FR).
Following the race, Taylor Fisher reported that Ravenswing (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed throughout.
