The Long Mile registered a second Grade B win today at Limerick as the Philip Dempsey trained, J.P. McManus owned gelding landed the featured E40,000 Tim Duggan Memorial Handicap Chase under Niall Madden..

The six year old son of Kayf Tara won three of his previous four runs pre-lockdown, including a similar Grade 3 chase at Gowran, and today bounced back from a fall at Punchestown last month when staying on strongly in the home-straight to beat top weight Articulum by 22 lengths, in very testing conditions.

Afterwards trainer Dempsey stated “he had a fall the last day on his first run back but he was very good today and is a relaxed type of horse.

“He progressed well last year and always just does enough.

“I don't look beyond today but I suppose something like the Leopardstown Chase could suit now.”
