Making nearly all the running, Inxile drifted from the far side of the course towards the centre in the closing stages.
However, the 7-2 favourite held on by half a length from another British challenger, the veteran Reverence with Le Cadre Noir third.
"He was hard to place last year so we went to France and over to Ireland & ndash; he'll do the same again this year," said the trainer.
"He's tough, a bit like Tax Free, but he's still very green and he's not had a lot of experience.
"He's a hard horse to ride but I think he's got a big future."
The Nicholls team completed a quick sprint double when the always prominent Fol Hollow (9-4 favourite) captured the Go Racing In Kildare Handicap.
Joseph Henry (5-1) made it three in the Summer Barbeque Evenings Handicap.< Duaisbhanna made every yard under 5lb claimer Danny Mullins to take the Panoramic Restaurant At Naas Fillies' Race.
The 7-2 shot, trained by Jim Bolger, had too many guns for the favourite Casual and won by four lengths.

"She just got chinned last time at Leopardstown and she needed every yard of the mile. She should go on from here," said trainer Kevin Prendergast.
The Tracey Collins-trained Lord Rathvinden (2-1 favourite) followed up a recent Tipperary success in the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap.
