Aidan O'Brien's Fame And Glory put in a hugely impressive display in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial at Leopardstown to stake his claim for Epsom glory.
Settled well off the pace under Seamie Heffernan, the 4-7 favourite had plenty of ground to make up after the turn for home, but moved smoothly into contention.
Once Heffernan pushed the button on the colt the result was never in doubt, as he swept into the lead and finished strongly to beat Mourayan by five lengths, with Fergus McIver third.
John Oxx may have had to settle for second in the big Derby trial, but he sent out a commanding winner of the Derrinstown Stud 1000 Guineas Trial in Baliyana
The 9-1 chance was always to the fore in the mile test, before stretching her lead after turning for home.< Aaroness came from the rear to give chase, but Mick Kinane seemed to have plenty of horse under him and the grey came home with two and a half lengths to spare.< Summit Surge completed a double for Ger Lyons when landing the Group Three Amethyst Stakes.
Never far off the pace under Keegan Latham, the 9-1 chance hit the front just after the turn for home and finished a ready one-and-a-half-length winner over Three Rocks
Lyons' Love Lockdown had already made his experience count in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction Maiden.
The 5-2 chance was always at the head of affairs and had drawn four and a half lengths clear of Justaroundmidnight at the line.
O'Brien also secured a double, having completed a one-two in the Nicole Cahill Trust Maiden when Dixie Music (7-2) came from well off the pace to beat stablemate Yankee Doodle by under Colm O'Donoghue.< Eagle's Pass was beaten in a hurdle at the Punchestown Festival when last seen, but made no mistake back on the level to land the Milltown Handicap under Wayne Lordan at 6-1.
