Review galway 1st Aug Island Myth, the complete outsider of the field, ran out a shock winner of the valuable Freshways Handicap Hurdle at Galway. The 50-1 shot was without a success in 12 starts over timber and had shown precious little since returning from a spell on the sidelines in June. But he was the only one to give chase to tearaway leader Trimbellina and after taking over at the head of affairs on the turn, a spring-heeled leap at the last sealed a five-length triumph.Paco Jack was a fine third here on Tuesday and showed no ill-effects from those exertions to outbattle Air Of Confusion in the Low Low Galway Blazers Handicap Chase.Joe Crowley's 7-1 chance was still on the bit in third turning into the home straight, but he was made to fight by the runner-up and he had to pull out all the stops for a three-quarters-of-a-length victory.Gratified had to settle for the runner-up spot for the second time this week when going under to First Trim (16-1) in the Jockeys Association Maiden Hurdle.Dermot Weld's odds-on market leader couldn't match the Seamus Fahey-trained winner on the run to the line and went down by a length and a half.Fahey doubled up when sending out Cybersnow to land the Cheestrings Handicap by eight lengths at odds of 6-1.Black Quartz gave Aidan O'Brien his third winner from five runners at the meeting when rallying admirably in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Premier Nursery. The top-weight was sent off the 4-5 favourite, but was headed by Corcovada inside the final 100 yards. Johnny Murtagh refused to concede, though, and his mount responded to every urging to get back up by a short head.Team Ballydoyle supplemented that success an hour later when Mikhail Glinka (4-7 favourite) made a winning debut in the Dawn Juice EBF Maiden, despite running very green, while Weld had to wait until the concluding Kerrymaid Festival INH Flat Race to get on the scoresheet, but did so courtesy of Natural High.
