Review cork 2nd Aug Slievecorragh (3-1) made a winning return to the jumps scene in Cork's J.P. McManus Hurdle.Francis Flood's six-year-old shaped well in a Flat handicap at Galway last week and delivered on that promising comeback run.Always to the fore under Mark Walsh, he looked in trouble when the strong-travelling Cloone Rocket edged ahead between the final two obstacles.But Walsh galvanised his mount on the run up to the line and he battled back to record a one and a quarter-length succcess.Former Nicky Henderson inmate Ainama proved his class on his first run for Niall 'Boots' Madden in the Mallow Hurdle.Despite drifting out to 7-2, he travelled sweetly under the trainer's son, Niall 'Slippers' Madden, and the result was never in danger as they got a dream run up the inside approaching the last.Liss Na Tintri held Farmaland to take second but Ainama was in a different league and scooted nine lengths clear.The Maddens were also on target through Salesin, who maintained his stark improvement in the Cork Handicap Hurdle.Sent off the 2-1 favourite on the back of easy wins at this track and Wexford last month, 'Slippers' never saw another rival after easing his charge into an early lead and he went on to beat Whispering Wind by 15 lengths.Cnoc Rua ran his rivals a merry dance in the opening Killetra Maiden Hurdle.Timothy Doyle's 11-2 chance was sent straight to the front by Michael Darcy and after building up a commanding lead, he had enough in hand to overcome a final-flight blunder and beat Delphi Mountain by five and a half lengths.Matchbook (6-1) landed the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle after Val San Vito unseated his rider two from home, while there was also late drama in the Charleville Handicap Hurdle, which ultimately went to 11-2 shot Diamond Shower.
