The last at Limerick this afternoon, the Kanyu Tree Live 19th June Bumper over 2m, went to the Willie Mullins trained, Patrick Mullins ridden Zuzka at the odds of 5/2 for the Supreme Horse Racing Club.
The 5yo daughter of Flemensfirth is now two from two having won her bumper on her debut at Kilbeggan earlier this month. Kilbarry Beauty for John Kiely and Derek O’Connor was sent off the 11/8 favourite but Patrick Mullins kicked his mount on two furlongs from home and that move was decisive as the favourite couldn’t bridge the gap and went down by a length and a half at the line. Young Palm ran well to take third at 6/1 a further length back for the Crawford brothers of trainer Stuart and rider Steven.
Patrick Mullins said afterwards: "She surprised us a bit. It’s a fair achievement for a mare to win a winners bumper.
"She will be kept on the go now and will go for a maiden hurdle next. Being a Flemensfirth she will probably go on soft ground.
"She is good enough to go anywhere now and will probably go to Galway and Listowel."
The winning owners are now nine winners from fifteen starts in Ireland.
Patrick Mullins has moved on to the eight winners mark for the new season while his father Willie was notching up his fourteenth success.
