YORK IN SEVENTH HEAVEN

Ray York made history at Santa Anita on Thursday by becoming the first jockey to ride in seven different decades.

Culebra, a four-year-old maiden from the Henry Moreno yard, finished 10th under the 66-year-old in a US18,000 maiden claimer over seven furlongs.

York, with over 3,000 wins to his credit including the 1954 Kentucky Derby on Determine, had his first ride in 1949.

The jockey, who had last ridden in public in 1992 at Bay Meadows, described the experience as a "big thrill."
