Wooster foiled Nivvo s front-running effort in the extended mile and a quarter maiden at Dundalk.
Nivvo was drawn widest of all in stall 14 but was pushed along by Pat Smullen to take the lead as the field raced towards the first bend.
Wooster tracked the leaders in fifth as the field came to halfway.
He then improved into third entering the home straight as Uncle Henry came under pressure in second.
Nivvo set sail for home over a furlong out but Wooster quickly closed on his outer.
Champion apprentice Oisin Orr sent Wooster past Nivvo inside the final furlong and his charge strode away to hit the line two lengths up at 6/1.
Runner-up Nivvo was well supported at the track from 9/4 to 7/4 favourite. Uncle Henry dropped to third at 18/1.
Oisin Orr said: "He didn't have the clearest of runs last week and only got going late. I was able to sit handy tonight and I had a nice position all the way. When I asked him it took him a few strides to get going but when he did he came home nicely.
"He's had loads of runs and loads of experience. He's a grand horse and hopefully can win a few more."
Wooster is trained in Co Derry by Noel Kelly.
This victory came on his ninth career start.
