Withabitofluk upholds family honour in Bellewstown bumper Well-bred newcomer Withabitofluk (7/2) took the Awardsandgifts.ie (Pro-Am) INH Flat Race for Henry de Bromhead and John Gleeson. Roger Brookhouse's homebred is related to a couple of useful bumper winners and made steady headway from the back of the field to dispute the lead with Addragoole a furlong and a half out. In a dramatic incident, favourite Jersey Des Brosses, a close third but seemingly held at the time, crashed out through the rail at the road crossing 150 yards from the post when finding himself a little short of room on the inner. Thankfully the horse and jockey Harry Swan were okay. Gleeson's mount found a bit more off the bridle than Addragoole to score by half a length with same margin back to Florance in third. Stable representative Robbie Power said: "For a Bellewstown bumper, I'd say it was a very hot race. "He has got a fantastic pedigree. "John gave him a lovely ride and got him into a nice rhythm. He came there and he was green, though, and he will improve plenty for that. "He's a very nice horse to look forward to. He's a gorgeous, big boy and he will improve plenty, and mentally he will improve a lot. "John said he loved that ground. Obviously, at some stage we will try him on softer ground. "It was a beautiful start." Quotes from Michael Graham
