Dermot Weld struck in the mile maiden at Cork tonight but second string Harbour Wind was the one that prevailed in the Moyglare Stud colours. Time Tells All went to post 8/11 favourite in the race having been placed on his previous two outings but could only finish fifth.

Newcomer Harbour Wind cut out the running under Leigh Roche and the 14/1 shot proved tough when tackled by Cuban Dawn in the closing stages.

That rival came to dispute inside the final furlong but Harbour Wind stuck his head out gamely to regain the advantage for a neck victory.

“We were disappointed with the favourite obviously but delighted with this horse,” said Kris Weld afterwards.

“He's a lovely kind honest horse and showed it there. The second horse headed him but he battled back and showed a really good attitude.

“We'll go easy with him and see how he comes out of the race. We'll probably look for a nice handicap with him in a month or six weeks.

“He set a fair pace and there was no hiding places for anyone.”
