Whiskeywealth made a winning start for Terence O'Brien when producing a fine front-running performance to land the two-mile handicap chase at Clonmel.

The Yeats gelding had been an easy winner at Tramore on New Year's Day for Eoghan O'Grady and struck first time for his new handler this afternoon.

Mike O'Connor was again in the plate and his mount jumped well in the lead.

The 85/40 favourite did get close over the last couple but found plenty on the run-in to record a two-and-a-quarter length win over Joy Of Life

The winning rider said:- "I won on him in Tramore, where he won well and he seems to be improving away.

"Eoghan is the new racecourse manager at Cork so can't hold a trainers' license and both he and Terence have done brilliant jobs with him. That was my first ride for Terence."
