The hot-looking bumper in Naas was turned into a procession as Racing Pulse dominated for Michael Winters and Mikey O’Connor.
The money came for the four-year-old who had hacked up ‘between the flags’ in Ballindenisk in May. He came in at 7/2 backed down from 11/2.
Although he led seven furlongs from home, it wasn’t until the home straight that he really asserted and opened up to put away his rivals. O’Connor could afford several peeks over his shoulder as his charge impressed in winning by 14 lengths. Flags Pass won the race for second at 10/1, a length and a quarter ahead of Masterofdeception (5/1).
Michael Winters said: “He won a point-to-point on very soft ground. He was working with Theos Well who disappointed last time when he finished fourth so that knocked us back a bit.
“He’s (Racing Pulse) a fierce honest galloper of a horse. He’ll gallop all day and stay all day. I was worried about him going the pace but he was very comfortable going the gallop.
“He’s only with me a couple of weeks and I’d say he’ll go to the sales.”
