The p2p.ie New Mobile Site (C & G) Point-To-Point Flat Race saw several horses, including the winner, Westendorf come in for market support from early in the day for the finale at Tipperary. The James Motherway-trained and John Barry-ridden victor is now sales bound with plenty to recommend him.

The successful Coroner gelding went off an easy-to-back 14/1 chance on track, and he got a patient steer to eventually come out on top by two and a quarter lengths from outsider Naturally Blond

The front two in the betting, Mind Boggler and Johnnys Edge finished tenth and twelfth respectively.

"He was placed in two good point to point maidens and his form was rock solid," reflected Motherway.

"My horses had been sick and weren't right all through the winter, and my concern coming here was the ground would be too dead. That was good though and he seems ground-versatile and he'll be sent to Cheltenham (Sales) at the end of the month."

The Stewards interviewed Eoin Doyle, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Jetstream Joe Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that he tried to nominate Mr.R.M.Cody on his charge but must have failed to confirm this online. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the trainer was in breach of Regulation 3 and cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.

The Stewards fined Terence O'Brien, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Kilquane Jack in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Stewards interviewed Mr M.C. O'Donovan, rider of Jennys Day concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f) and 10.4, in that he used the whip with excessive frequency and without giving his mount time to respond and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day.
