Aidan O'Brien's Wembley struck at the fourth time of asking in the extended seven furlong maiden that opened Roscommon's card.
In a race dominated by the market principals, it was 2/1 second favourite Sword Zorro who set out to make all. He was tracked throughout by 1/2 favourite Wembley.
The leader edged off the rail a furlong and a half out and Wembley unleashed his challenge up the inner at the furlong pole.
He was ridden to lead in the final 150 yards and hit the line a length to the good. The front two were seven and a half lengths clear of the third home, Vocito
Jockey Seamie Heffernan said: “His three runs have been good. He's only backed them up and he's gone and won.
“Some horses will handle that ground and some horses will look for an excuse to give up. It's lovely soft ground.”
