Well-related Sinoria makes winning start at chasing game A point-to-point victor at Borris House in March 2018 on the same card as Andy Dufresne, Sinoria made a winning debut over racecourse fences in the Go Racing At Thurles Mares Beginners Chase today. She won her point-to-point for handler Richard Black in the colours of Austin Fanning, and she’s a half-sister to 2017 Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up Minella Rocco. Rathmore Stud’s Peter Molony shelled out 130,000 pounds for her in the spring of 2018, on behalf of owner Kenny Alexander. Now with Henry de Bromhead, the Oscar mare stamped herself as a useful novice hurdler, with two successes, including at Listed level. Here under Rachael Blackmore she proved too strong for favourite Good Thyne Tara from after three out. The 6/4 shot made a mistake at the last but still had twelve lengths and nineteen lengths to spare over Good Thyne Tara and Half The Odds at the line. "Rachael was brilliant on her and she jumped great bar the last when she probably got a bit lonely. It's the start you could only hope for and hopefully she will progress from there," said de Bromhead. "The Grade 3 mares' novice chase in Mallow on Hilly Way Chase day is next on my mind for her. She'll go on most grounds and appreciates a nice bit of ease. She enjoys chasing and I'm delighted with her." (TW & EM)
